| Just shortly after celebrating the New Year a couple of masked men are found breaking into the station trying to rescue Bishop.

This film isn't about great acting or witty dialogue. It's about the survival of the fittest, good guys versus bad guys, and escaping with your life. A concept used many times before and in this case a remake of John Carpenter's |

Fearing Bishop's capture will result in him testifying against more than 30 dirty cops, they have decided to kill him before he can talk. And now that Jake knows their identity, no one inside the station will be allowed to leave alive. The only way any of them will have any chance is if they arm everyone, including the criminals. This decision sets up a lot of possible confrontations to come not knowing whom they can really trust.
